Student Showcase at Coda in Tremont...a lot of fun!

It was a really great evening with my student showcase. I got up and performed with 6 of my students who all did great...some even sang. Then someone I taught years ago and is now a 2x grammy winner (Jose Alvarez) got up with me and smoked the house! The atmosphere at Coda is really cool and there were a lot of enthusiastic people in the audience.

I teach blues guitar from the early classics by Robert Johnson, Lighting Hopkins, Muddy Water, Elmore James to the Modern Day legends like Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Here I'm playing an Eric Clapton arrangement of "Drifting Blues" composed by Charles Brown. I teach this arrangement to my students note for note. This gives the student many ideas on how to play blues in the key of E...I also show how to play this arrangement with finger picking along with other beautiful arrangements.
